Since the club was re-launched in 2001 we have raised money for a number of local and national charities the NSPCC, Lincolnshire Air Ambulance, Brigg Skate Park, LIVES and the Jumbulance, (all links are to the main sites rather than the local branches) to name but a few. We donate to local branches of each charity were ever possible, as we feel all money raised locally should be used locally.
The clubs chosen charity for the year is picked in September ready to start raising funds in October. The first of the events is a stall at Brigg Christmas Market, you might have seen us there over the years. We also hold a Burns Night and St Georges Day quiz with the money raised during the raffles on each evening going to our chosen charity. We finish the year off with a black tie Charity Evening in September all proceeds form the evening are donated to charity and we generally have an auction as well as a raffle.
These are the main events that we hold to raise money for local charities however we take part in a number of other activities to raise money for example members of the club completed the NSPCC Hack a 25 mile walk in the Peak District a few years ago and are planning to give it another go in the not so distant future.
Each year the club aims to raise £1,000 for charity and in recent years we have regularly exceeded this amount. We have now raised over £12,500 as a club for a variety of charities.
Currently we are raising money for When You Wish Upon a Star
